To Resolution or Not To Resolution

Get ready for your Facebook feed to be overtaken by folks who will be posting “before” pictures, images of their proposed “new look”, self righteous reflections, and all of that other “New Year, New Me” bullshit.

My face, every single time I go through my Facebook feed for the next week. ^^

Combine that with all of the engagement announcements, it’s almost enough to want to cancel your Facebook account completely. Although if you do that, how are you going to lurk the ex girlfriend of the guy you just met. These are things to consider. Don’t look at me like that, you know you do it too.

There are many types of resolutions out there. After doing intense amounts of research on the subject-matter, I have found that these are top resolutions that everyone is adding to resolution repertoire for 2016 (according to Busineswire.com and the interwebz anyway.)

America’s No. 1 Resolution: “Enjoy Life to the Fullest”

Uh, okay. Seems pretty basic, but what does that even mean? Accepting every invitation that comes your way? Spend more time with family and friends? Quit my job and become a groupie for my favorite band? What if I just want to stay home and consume an entire pizza and a bottle of Cabernet? Someone please enlighten me, then maybe I could justify making this resolution. More wine please.

“Live a Healthier Lifestyle”

Give up gluten, sugar, smoking, alcohol, texting your ex (this falls into “mental health”) etc. I’m sorry but I really like bread. And chocolate, and alcohol. Maybe this should be called “Live a Lifestyle With More Moderation.” As for smoking, stop that. It’s gross. Texting your ex? Maybe the whole living a life with more moderation (like you know, not drinking that whole bottle of Cab.) will help with that.

Byeeee, you douche canoe you. ^^

“Lose Weight”

This is Live a Healthier Lifestyle’s little sister. I fully support this, considering I say this every year. Just don’t go nuts and maybe only eat half of that pizza.

How?! ^^

“Spend More Time With Family and Friends”

Another one I can support, as I am pretty much a pro at this. Being a single for awhile has allowed me to grow even closer to my friends, as they are all essentially my boyfriends in different ways at this point. Seriously, my room mate folds my laundry, my blog partner has me over for holidays, I spend my weekends causing trouble with various friends, etc. Resolution achieved before it’s even 2016. Boom.

Dang, I have some really pretty friends 😉

“Spend Less, Save More”

Yeah…about that. No comment. But really, this isn’t a bad idea.

“Pay Down Debt”

Yeah, please see the above comments.^^

So there you have it, those are the top New Year’s resolutions that America is hoping to achieve. Personally, mine are as follows:

  1. Travel, Travel, Travel
  2. Lose 5 10 pounds (this is always a given)
  3. Spend less, save more
  4. Keep being awesome 🙂

What is everyone else’s top resolutions? You know, if you are into that kind of thing.
